Trump’s announcement came one day after FIFA President Gianni Infantino traveled to Trump Tower in New York City, about 10 miles east of MetLife Stadium.
Infantino presented the Club World Cup trophy and said that fans can go to the tower before Sunday’s game to see it.

Joined by Eric Trump, one of the president’s sons, Infantino also said that FIFA would be opening an office inside Trump Tower.
“Today, we are opening an office of FIFA here in Trump Tower. Thank you, Eric, thank you to everyone. Thanks, of course, to President Trump as well, who is a big fan of soccer,” he said.
The FIFA president added later, “We have received such a big support from the government and from the president with the White House Task Force for the FIFA Club World Cup and for the FIFA World Cup next year.”
The Club World Cup featured 32 clubs and players from 72 countries, including Argentina’s Lionel Messi, who plays for Inter Miami of Major League Soccer, and Gonzalo García of Real Madrid and Spain.
