MANCHESTER, N.H. —
Humidity has cranked up in New Hampshire, leading to increased storm chances for Wednesday ahead of what will be the hottest stretch this year.
Highs will warm into the 70s and 80s, and with dew points in the 60s to low 70s, scattered showers and thunderstorms will likely pop up in places.
The strongest storms will feature locally heavy downpours and gusty winds.
There might be additional showers in southern spots on Thursday before an extremely hot stretch begins in the state.
Temperatures could reach into the low 90s on Friday and the mid- to upper 90s on Saturday and Sunday. Heat indices over the weekend could top 100 degrees.
An afternoon shower or thundershower is possible over the weekend, but most of the time will be free of rain or storms.
