State Trooper, Others Injured in Shooting That Ended at a Kentucky Baptist Church

A state trooper is wounded and a suspected shooter is dead after an exchange in gunfire on July 13 ended at a Baptist church in Lexington, Kentucky.

Kentucky State Police reported that a “trooper-involved shooting incident” occurred in Fayette County at 11:36 a.m. local time.

“The suspect shot a trooper and then fled the scene, ending up at the Richmond Road Baptist Church, at which time KSP and Lexington Police Dept,” Kentucky State Police reported on social media platform X.

“KSP & LPD were able to secure the suspect,” police added. “At this time, we can confirm that the trooper is receiving medical attention. There are multiple victims at the church, and EMS is on scene. The suspect is deceased.”
