Senators Share Documents With Prosecutors Probing Hunter Biden

Two senators have shared documents they’ve obtained while investigating President Joe Biden’s son with prosecutors who are probing the son, Hunter Biden, the senators announced on Oct. 26.

Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) sent the documents, including banking records, to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Delaware, after the office and the U.S. Department of Justice, which oversees the office, declined to ensure that the federal probe would be both thorough and free from interference.

“Today, in light of your and DOJ’s failure to respond to our legitimate congressional oversight requests and as part of our ongoing congressional investigation, we are transmitting to you over two hundred pages of records relating to the Biden family’s connections to the Chinese regime and persons connected to its military and intelligence elements,” Johnson and Grassley wrote in a letter to U.S. Attorney David Weiss, a Trump appointee.

“If you are conducting a full and complete investigation, you should already possess these records. In the case that you are not and do not possess these records, we suggest that you review them in detail,” the senators added.

The documents include records showing a business relationship between Hunter Biden and CEFC China Energy, a firm that was one of the largest energy companies in China before it later went defunct, including while Joe Biden was vice president.

One document shows Hunter Biden and Chinese businessmen established a company together in 2017, after Joe Biden left office. The operating agreement showed Hunter Biden was slated to receive $100,000 per month while James Biden, Joe Biden’s brother, was slated to be paid $65,000 a month.

Other records show financial transactions between companies and firms run by Hunter Biden and James Biden, including $6 million in wire transfers.

Weiss’s office declined to comment. Hunter Biden’s lawyer has not responded to requests for comment.

Hunter Biden said in 2020 that he was under investigation for “tax issues.”

A subpoena reviewed by The Epoch Times in January showed Weiss was seeking to obtain transactions between Hunter Biden and a Chinese bank.

FBI agents are involved in the investigation into Hunter Biden, FBI Director Christopher Wray said over the summer.

Chris Clark, Hunter Biden’s lawyer, said in October that prosecutors “are diligently and thoroughly weighing not just evidence provided by agents, but also all the other witnesses in this case, including witnesses for the defense.”

Clark was speaking out amid reports alleging Hunter Biden may soon be charged.

Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden have maintained that Hunter Biden did nothing wrong.

Hunter Biden has said he made mistakes but did not commit crimes.
